The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for the management of quality assurance procedures and quality control personnel at the Reno manufacturing facility. Specific duties will focus on the development and maintenance of the in-house food quality programs to ensure all products meet food safety and quality standards

 Essential Functions:

  • Ensure all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as Monin internal policy and procedures related to food safety and quality are followed at all times.
  • Oversee the proper application of FDA food code on product processing, bottling, CCP monitoring, sanitation, etc.
  • Monitor and verify the proper application of all GMPs, SSOPs, environmental microbial monitoring and investigation, and sanitation inspections.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all quality control programs, procedures, documentation, and statistical records.
  • Manage and assist in FDA, Kosher, Halal, Organic, GFSI, internal, and customer audits and inspections.
  • Communicate real-time quality data to all affected departments to ensure customer specifications are continuously met.
  • Thoroughly investigate and respond to customer complaints on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements, industry regulated standards, and overall food safety and quality functions
  • Ensure proper management of held product, storage condition, and quality of labeling, packaging, and shipping operations.
  • Develop and execute training that support Monin’s objectives regarding quality and food safety.
  • Inspires team adoption of the company mission/values, compliance with standards, product quality and customer service.
  • Manages projects as assigned by company leadership.
Qualifications:
  • A Food Science degree or Technical courses in Biology or a related field, with one or more years of practical experience or a combination of both.
  • 5 plus years of experience in the Food and Beverage industry is preferred
  • Preventive Controls for Human Food certified preferred
  • Working knowledge of HACCP and GFSI fundamentals
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs to report KPIs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and lift.
