The Inventory Control Specialist will report to the Inventory Control Manager, you will be responsible for all inventory control related activities at the Clearwater Manufacturing facility. These duties will include executing inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stock holding and maximizes stock system and paperwork accuracy. The role carries responsibility for working with purchasing, manufacturing, goods inwards and dispatch to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly. The job role may include other reasonable duties/tasks from time to time.

 Essential Functions:

  • Adhere to all inventory control processes and procedures. Highlighting any potential issues or problems to the Inventory Control Manager
  • Maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles, expiry dates, FIFO and stock locations
  • Ensure that perpetual inventory stock counting and inventory accuracy checks are conducted regularly
  • Minimize overstocks and removal of obsolete and redundant materials to maximize availability of working capital
  • Place transfers for incoming resupply ingredients, bottles, caps, boxes etc to ensure Clearwater holds sufficient inventory to support production
  • Create and carry out cycle counts for all inventory items making corrective adjustments within NaV ensuring inventory levels are always accurate
  • Consolidate inventory locations to maximize space availability
  • Ensure incoming product is receipted, recorded, located and managed appropriately according to company procedure
  • Assume Inventory Control Manager responsibilities in their absence, which includes providing routine management information on inventory performance
    • Monitor and evaluate consumables usage and cost
    • Monitor and evaluate material utilization and scrap
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of stock management system
  • Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved
  • Follow control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Forklift Certified with a minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Possessing a relevant professional qualification and/or suitable background experience in inventory management.
  • Have a detailed understanding of MRP and inventory control management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills for demanding and customer focused working environment.
  • Possesses excellent personal organization and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods.
  • Possesses the ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Possesses the willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
  • Possesses relevant IT skills in basic MS Office applications – outlook, excel and word in particular
  • Knowledge of Navision preferred.
Compensation/Benefits:

  • This position is compensated at an hourly rate and occasional overtime hours may be required.
