The Field Sales Director is responsible for managing a team of field sales employees, providing guidance, training, mentorship, setting goals, and building a highly functional team.
This position will work directly and indirectly with a broker and distributor network. They will work closely with peers to execute rigorous sales goals and develop new business.
This position requires strong leadership, training and coaching direct reports, relationship building, and team development.
This position will report to the Vice President of Sales.
Develops and manage a team of Business Development Managers and Territory Managers to meet sales goal effectively.
Works with direct reports to develop a short and long-term strategic plan.
Continuously develop and support your sales team through motivation, training, and product knowledge education.
Routinely work in the field with each direct report.
Establish and maintain relationships with numerous points of contact within current and potential customers.
Identify and implement sales strategies for deeper penetration of existing customers by introducing new products, programs, and promotions along with new uses and applications of existing products.
Prepare and submit action plans and calendar schedules to identify specific targets committing to the number of sales contacts to be made.
Contact potential customers through a variety of methods, including cold-calling, networking, referrals, industry events, etc. and following-up on resulting leads.
Identify sales prospects, including potential customers and distributors.
Prepare and submit a monthly sales update on activities within your area of responsibility.
Participate in marketing/sales events such as seminars, conferences, trade shows, and company meetings.
Develop and create captivating sales presentations and proposals.
Utilize all Monin resources (Brand/Field marketing, sales operations, customer service).
Work with a sense of urgency and accountability.
Commitment to continuous growth and learning.
Upholds and inspires adoption of company mission and values.
Other Job Duties may be assigned.
3-5 years of Management experience.
Excellent sales skills, including a track record of 5-7 years of successful sales experience; experience in the food and beverage industry is preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including skills to develop and deliver presentations and create, compose, and edit written materials.
These skills are typically gained through a bachelor's degree or comparable work experience.
Well-developed persuasion and negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly develop a rapport with customers and team members.
Work requires significant travel to current and potential clients. The travel modes will include self-driven auto and commercial air transportation.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and overnight travel and evening/weekend work.
