My Monin Story
by Sam A.
I was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, where I grew up a middle child of thirteen siblings. Some of us attended a boarding school where I learned to be social and independent at an early age. Most of my lifelong friends are my former classmates that I attended boarding school with. In my early adult life, I traveled around often, that’s how I ended up in New York and eventually settling down in Clearwater, Florida.
In 2005, I started my journey at Monin, I can proudly say that it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. From the first day I walked in, I knew this was the place that I was going to work for the rest of my life. The amazing people I work with and the great benefits that come with my job are things that I have not found at companies I have worked for in the past. At Monin, I feel as if I’m growing and getting better with age, just like the company is.
I’ve tasted many recipes made with Monin products but if I must pick my favorite, it would be the Hawaiian Island. This flavor takes me on a journey even when I’m not traveling. I always tell my family and friends that I have a sweet job (pun intended).
Other facts about me:
- I like being close to the water, but I can’t swim
- I’m a Chelsea FC fan for life
- I love traveling, I once went around the world in 72hrs (New York, to London, to Dubai, to Japan, to San Francisco, and back to New York)
- I have 50 things on my bucket list and only 20 more to complete
