We have already introduced Antonio Lai, a prestigious bartender in Hong Kong, now discover one of his bars: the QUINARY, the world's first multisensory bar!

 

Antonio, can you describe your first bar, the Quinary?

The name of my first bar is Quinary – which means, “consisting of five” with the aim to engage all five human senses through multisensory mixology. Taking a lead from the inventive approach to food pioneered by the likes of Ferran Adria (the Catalan known to be creator of molecular cooking) at his El Bulli restaurant , Quinary brings to cocktails this same food-science approach that understands why certain aromas, flavours and textures work together.

Where classics take on a new twist, where new drinks may become tomorrow's classics, I wish for Quinary to take on multisensory experience into the new world of cocktails.

Do you think your bar is an inspiring place for other bartender? 

Yes, definitely. Not only do we employ state-of-the-art techniques and equipment, our accolades in awards and competitions cement our spot as a crucial venue for learning and growing a bartender’s career. To date, we have nurtured champions for prestigious competitions such as World Class, Chivas Masters, Bols and Hendrick’s.

 

What is your favourite bar in the world? The most inspiring place for you? Why?
