From October, MONIN is going on the road with MONIN & You, a series of live talks, looking at the next big trends, issues and solutions affecting cocktails and coffee, as well as physical demos and advice to help drive your business forward.

MONIN & You will visit Bristol on 5th October, Manchester on 4th November and London on 7th December 2021 and will cover topics including:

What is MONIN & You?

Each talk will be hosted by expert speakers from the world of coffee and cocktails, including: Sam Trevethyen, Kenji Jesse, Matt Hollidge, Bea Bradsell, George Blower, Dan Fellows and Steve Moloney. The line-up of guests will be supported by MONIN’s own Henry Dewar, Lee Hyde, and Jess Munro, who will be imparting their knowledge and experience, whilst providing some exciting demonstrations.


Each live roadshow event will also feature an evening event with the Barista League as well as late drinks for participants, guests and friends of Monin.

Who are we working with on MONIN & You?  

Meet our guests helping us to deliver MONIN & You.

Dan Fellows is the host of MONIN & You. In addition to helping to chair each event, Dan will also be bringing his wealth of experience across the world of coffee cocktails to the talks and practical demonstrations. Dan is in his second year of working as MONIN’s coffee consultant and comes from an illustrious career spanning well over 15 years within all things coffee cocktail inspired. Dan is a double World Coffee in Good Spirits champion, a real testament to his passion for coffee cocktails and a clear indication of his expertise.  

Steve Moloney is a double Swedish Barista Champion and Swedish Aeropress Champion. In 2015 he founded The Barista League and has grown the competition into a small but global company that runs events and competitions across three continents. He will be talking about competitions in coffee – the good, the bad, the potential and how you can use events to create a tighter and more excited community around yourself. Steve joins MONIN & You attracted by the opportunity to support local communities and independents across the hospitality sector.

Sam Trevethyen has many years of experience across a number of hospitality sectors on a global and UK level. Currently he is global brand ambassador for Discarded. Previously, Sam spent the last 6.5 years building the beverage department at London’s Grind & Co from a small espresso bar into a hugely successful high-street Coffee & Cocktails concept and an international presence as the coffee partner for Soho House Group. Sam cut his teeth in hospitality working in coffee in Melbourne 10 years ago, brining a deep knowledge of both sides of the drinks industry to the role, as well as a wealth of operational experience. Sam will be talking about creating modern drinks menu’s, from an end-to-end process, to bringing in latest trends as well as making sure you build in relevant consumer insights.

Matt Hollidge is @theamateurmixologist on Instagram; one of the largest cocktail accounts in the UK and a previous Global Home Bartender of the Year. His drinks have appeared on the menus of top bars in New York, London and Sydney, the pages of national press and the judges table in global cocktail competitions. He is a home bartender, mixing cocktails and creating content in his spare time while working with drinks and lifestyle brands to craft unique serves and content experiences. Matt has become a trusted recipe and content creator for brands inside and out of the hospitality industry, including recipe development for countless spirits brands. His experiences make him an expert in social content creation for the hospitality sector. Matt joins MONIN & You to share his passion for digital drinks, covering the impact of social media on drink presentation and the perception and experience of patrons digitally and in venue, exploring how, what you can see, can change what you taste, and how cross channel experiences can help us redefine the concept of “the regular”.

A career changer from the world of brand strategy for top food and drink companies, to a pioneering sustainable chef, George Blower ditched working behind a Mac and into the kitchen. Passionate about minimal waste in the pursuit of flavour, he ran a succession of sell-out plant-based supperclubs in London before taking a position at world-renowned zero waste restaurant, Silo. Throwing caution to the wind he opened his first restaurant in Porthleven, Cornwall earlier this year. George joins MONIN & You to share is incredible knowledge on reducing waste. A hot topic for the hospitality sector, George will be discussing ways to minimise and reuse waste creatively in a bar and restaurant setting to create unique experiences as well as ensuring environmental considerations are at the heart of your operations.

Having been born into the industry Bea Bradsell started her hospitality journey at the age of 13 training with her father, industry legend, Dick Bradsell. Since then, she’s worked her way across some of the world’s top bars including El Camion, New York’s The Dead Rabbit, Swift and Callooh Callay. She can now be found working as a drinks industry specialist developing training programmes, drink strategies and experiential events. Bea is passionate about the world of coffee cocktails, and joins MONIN & You sharing her thoughts and insights on the next big opportunities for those venues looking to explore coffee cocktails as part of their offering.
