This Privacy Policy describes how Monin, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Monin,” “we,” “us,” and/or “our”) handle personal information we collect on our mobile application (collectively, the “Services”).   • Profile and account information, which may include username, profile picture, recipe images, recipes, slideshow content and preference information as well as your account password, liked recipes, profile description and other information about your profile or account;

  • User submitted content, such as photographs, comments, or other content you submit

  • Content you make available through social media accounts (e.g., when you sign in using social media plug-ins);

  • Location information of your device that you use with our mobile application, if your device settings allow us to collect location information; and

  • Details about devices used to access our websites, such as IP address, device information, and operating system information;

How We Use Information

We use the information that we collect to conduct our business and to provide you with the best possible products, services, and experiences. We also may combine any or all of the information that we collect or obtain. We use the information we collect to:

  • To provide you with products and services, such as to: process, maintain and service your account(s) to provide you with services and notifications that we think you will like;

  • To respond to you, such as when you: call us; make a request or inquiry; enter a contest or sweepstakes; complete a survey; or share a comment or concern;

  • For personalization of your experiences with us, including to: remember your interests and preferences; track and categorize your activity and interests on our mobile application, including by identifying the different devices you use; to allow you to like and react to other posts in the app; and to enrich your experience on our mobile application;

  • For marketing and advertising, such as to: send you marketing communications; and to customize the marketing and advertising that we show you

  • For analytics, such as to: understand how you use our mobile application; understand how you engage with different activities in the mobile application; determine the methods and devices used to access our mobile application; and improve our mobile application;

  • For our business purposes, such as: to operate and improve upon our business, to maintain our programs, accounts, and records; for research; to determine your satisfaction with our products and services; to detect and prevent fraud or misuse of our services; and for any other business purpose that is permitted by law;

For legal and safety purposes, such as to: defend or protect us, our customers, you, or third parties, from harm, fraud or in legal proceedings; protect our rights; protect our security and the security of our customers, employees, and property; respond to court orders, lawsuits, subpoenas, and government requests; address legal and regulatory compliance; and notify you of product recalls or safety issues. From time to time, we may use or augment the personal data we have about you with information obtained from other sources, such as public databases, social media platforms and other third parties. For example, we may use such third-party information to confirm contact or financial information or to better understand your interests by associating demographic information with the information you have provided.

We may also aggregate any personal information that we collect in connection with our Services, such that the information is no longer personally identifiable or attributable to you. We may use such aggregated information for our own legitimate business purposes without restriction.


Why We Process Your Information

We have lawful bases to collect, use and share your information. You have choices about our use of your data.

  • Social media platforms and networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram that offer functionalities, plugins, widgets, or tools in connection with our mobile application (e.g., to log into an account, or to share inspiration, likes, and other content with your friends and followers on social media). If you choose to use these functionalities, plugins, widgets, or tools, certain information may be shared with or collected by those social media companies;

  • Additional third parties such as law enforcement, government entities, courts, or other third parties as required or allowed by applicable law, such as for the legal and safety purposes described above, or otherwise to help prevent harm or fraud to us, you, our customers, or other third parties. We also may share personal information with third parties upon your request or with your approval, though we may not be able to accommodate all requests;

  • Other third parties with your consent and at your direction.

Please note when you provide a recipe review, share a recipe or other user content, that content will be publicly posted. Other users may be able to see your name or other information about you that you post.

We reserve the right to transfer the information we maintain in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets. If we engage in such a sale or transfer, we will make reasonable efforts to direct the recipient to use your personal information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. After such a sale or transfer, you may contact the recipient with any inquiries concerning the recipient’s privacy practices.

This Application is for people considered adult in the country from which they connect.

Access to this Application is forbidden to minors, due to the presentation and promotion of alcoholic products on some of its pages.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under age 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 18, we will delete that information.

You may unsubscribe from receiving marketing or other commercial emails from us by following the instructions included in the email. However, even if you opt out of receiving such communications, we retain the right to send you non-marketing communications (such as information about changes to our Privacy Policy or Terms of Use).


The use of the Application's geo-tracking feature requires the prior expressed consent of the user whose location is to be tracked. To do this the user should, if desired, activate the geo-tracking function directly in the settings of his or her wireless device and agree that the Application may use it. This may be disabled or enabled at any time and at no cost.

By accepting GPS geo-tracking of his or her mobile phone and the Application, the user can:

  • Make use of products that are available in the area in which they are located and recipes adapted to the same area;

  • Receive informative or commercial messages while the Application is being used.

If geo-tracking is not accepted, the user will have access to information for the European area. In this instance, no logs are kept and this tracked information is not used beyond these explicit goals.

You may stop sharing your location data by adjusting your mobile device’s location services settings. For instruction on changing the relevant settings, please contact your service provider or device manufacturer.

Other Data We Collect

We, our service providers, and our business partners may also collect certain information about the use of our Services by automated means, such as web beacons and other technologies and across third-party websites.

Like many mobile app operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our mobile application including:

  • Log Data - This Log Data may include information such as your phone's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our app that you visit, the time and date of your visit and the time spent on those pages and other statistics;

  • User preferences - which include: accepting terms and conditions, accepting GPS sharing, skipping login and entering directly as a guest user, log in with Social Network.

We work with third party companies to; track and categorize your activity and interests over time on our mobile application, and on third party websites and mobile applications; and to identify the different device(s) you use to access mobile applications. We share information with these companies, and these companies may collect information—including automatically collected information when you use our mobile application—through the methods described in the “How We Collect Information” section above. These third-party companies also may possess or obtain information about you from your interactions: directly with the third party companies; with other websites, mobile applications, or companies that the third party companies work with; or from your interactions with advertisements the third party companies help to display to you. The information that these companies collect or that we share may be used to customize or personalize the advertisements that are displayed to you.  We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these ad networks and other parties.

European users may opt out of receiving targeted advertising on websites through members of the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance by clicking here, selecting your country, and then clicking “Choices” (or similarly-titled link). Mobile app users may opt out of receiving targeted advertising in mobile apps through members of the Digital Advertising Alliance by installing the AppChoices mobile app, available here, and selecting your choices. Because there is not yet a consensus on how companies should respond to web browser-based do-not-track (“DNT”) mechanisms, we do not respond to web browser-based DNT signals at this time.

We may provide links to other websites, services, and applications that are not operated or controlled by us (the “Third Party Services”). This Privacy Policy does not apply to the Third-Party Services. How We Protect Your Information

We may transfer your personal information to countries other than the country in which you initially provided the information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. For example, if you are located outside of the United States, we typically transfer and process all personal information in the United States and France, where we are headquartered. Content Submitted by You 

Some features of the Services allow you to post content on our mobile apps, or social media pages, such as recipes. Content that you provide may be shared publicly or with other users or third parties.

Data Retention 

We retain personal information for as long as is necessary for the processing purpose(s) for which the information was collected, and any other permissible, related purpose. When we no longer need the personal information we collect, we either anonymize the information or securely destroy the information.

By connecting to the "My recipes" section of the MONIN Application, the user makes his or her profile visible ("username," "about me," "profile photo") to other users of the Application.


Also, when returning to the "My recipes" tab, each user can, if desired, create content (mainly a recipe with pictures, list of ingredients, method for creating it, etc.).

Upon validation by the publishing user, the content is automatically visible to other users and is stored via the Application unless the publishing user removes it.


The user is aware that every recipe that he or she posts in this section of "My recipes" can be viewed, published, reproduced and re-used by the Application’s community of users, without MONIN being held responsible for any reuse that takes place.


The role of MONIN moderators is to ensure quality content by discarding contributions which, by their character that is contrary to laws and regulations, that is undignified or intrusive to people, irrelevant, or generally harmful to the purpose and cohesion of the community of users of the MONIN Inspiration Mobile App.


Thus, users of the Application undertake not to broadcast any message or information — whatever its form or nature — that might be:

  • contrary to public order or morality, abusive, sexist or rude;

  • violent, racist, revisionist;

  • defensive of war crimes;

  • an expression of a will to commit an unlawful or dangerous act, an apology for risky behavior, illegal or non-compliant with the rules of proper conduct;

  • contrary to intellectual property rights (e.g. copyright on recipes or on photos, trademarks highlighted etc.) or the law applicable to databases;

  • suggestions that are defamatory or denigrating to an individual, a company or a brand;

  • contrary to image rights or the right to respect for private life;

  • and generally any message that violates any law or regulation in force.


MONIN moderators and people responsible for the Application will act upon these as soon as possible, as soon as they become aware of any content that may be contrary to the rules mentioned above.


In case of non-compliance with these rules and legal provisions, publications from users may be moderated or removed.

If offending users persist, they may be excluded from the app’s community.


MONIN also gives its email address below, enabling any user who considers him or herself to be aggrieved by a publication from another user and wishes to report any behavior or suggestion that does not comply with these general conditions of use to report it immediately, or a system allowing you contact the site moderator immediately:


Once alerted, the moderator will be able to take all measures they consider necessary to prevent the recurrence of such behavior, including barring their authors.


The moderator may also be required to forward the reported information to the competent authorities.




The recipes presented in the "MONIN recipes" section remain the property of MONIN.


Any user can use them for private purposes and business users (barmen, bartenders, baristas, etc.) may reuse them in their establishments.

However, any reproduction or copy all or part of the content on the site (including recipes) for commercial purposes (e.g. putting "MONIN recipes" in a book or file of any kind or via any medium to be sold, or to encourage a sale), is only possible with written permission of the site managers.


If a user shares a "MONIN recipe" on social networks, he or she undertakes to respect MONIN's copyright and not to delete references to the source of the post.




The User expressly undertakes:

- to download the Application to his or her device exclusively for personal or professional use, but not commercial use;

- not to reproduce the Application permanently or temporarily, in whole or part, by any means or in any form;

- not to use software or processes to copy the Content without the prior written permission of MONIN.

- not to make any adaptation, modification, translation, transcription, arrangement, compilation, decompilation, assembly, disassembly or transcoding, or apply reverse engineering to all or part of the Application, Services and/or Content;

- not to export the Application nor merge all or part of the Application with other computer programs;

- only to make short quotations, analyses or reproductions for press reviews or other uses that are expressly authorized by law within the limits and conditions laid down by these and subject notably to naming the authors and editorial source;

- to expressly agree not to use software or devices that may interfere with proper operation of the Application;

- not to introduce systems that can hack the Application and/or the Content in whole or in part, or that are likely to violate these Terms and Conditions;

- to inform MONIN upon discovery of an act of piracy and in particular any illegal or non-contractual use of the Application and/or Content whatever the method of distribution;

- not to sell, lease, sub-license or distribute the Application and/or the Content to third parties in any way.
