Beverage Innovation Manager Southeast Asia

A familiar name in the Malaysia Beverage scene, Jason Soon Wei Lun or better known as Jason Soon with his hashtag #jangantakut and #makeithappen has been with the MONIN family since 2014. As the manager of drink development, he is based in our Malaysia studio where he provides beverage trainings on a national and international level.

Jason has quickly integrated in the world of bartending, managing, conceptualising, and training due to the loyalty for his passion. Starting out with a Bachelor in Hotel Management, he gained experience and knowledge from the successful captains within the industry. He groomed himself by joining Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur and enhanced his skills in management and operation.

As he was behind the bar with generic cocktails that seem to be declining among consumers, he knew it was time to fill in what was missing.  That’s when he craved for a platform to put his training to test and finally found it at Aloft Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. He creatively planned a cocktail program to mingle dining, cocktails and parties for a night out experience. Amazingly, his plan became a new party trend with people from all walks of life embracing it.

His success was brought to limelight by leading medias: Flavour Magazine, TimeOut KL, Juice Magazine, and 988 radio [Malaysia’s Mandarin #1 radio channel].   

As Jason was reaching the peak of success, he received a miracle offer from MONIN and found the opportunity to venture into his own passion. Today at MONIN, his creativity and training skills lead him to travel on to all countries of the Southeast Asia to meet importers, barmen, and baristas in order to help them to develop their drinks’ offerings.
